Rihanna Fenty Puma Creepers Collection

Rihanna Fenty Puma Creepers Collection

Rihanna will release the third installment of her Puma Suede creeper—a sneaker with a flat, thick-soled “creeper” platform attached—that is expected to sell out as quickly as the first two releases. Last fall, the $120 sneaker sold out online within three hours of its pre-sale launch. Two months later, in November, a men’s version of the creeper was snatched from the site by the next day. As people queue up their browsers (and queue up in N.Y.C.) this week to shell out another $150 for three new colorways (including “glo,” that is, white patent leather), it appears the success of the creeper, a style immortalized in the 70s as a British punk staple by designers like Vivienne Westwood, has transcended the standard celebrity fashion endorsement.

Update Rihanna Fenty Puma Creepers Collection:

Rihanna's new creepers sold out online in under 45 minutes today — crashing Puma's website multiple times in the process. The singer released the third installment of her best-selling Fenty x Puma sneakers in three new colorways at 10 a.m. EST and 7 a.m. PT this morning.

It certainly doesn't come as a surprise that Rih's thick-soled platform creepers have sold out. When Puma initially released the shoes back in September for $120, they sold within a couple of hours. However, as the hype surrounding the sneakers has heightened, that time has waned significantly.

What made the third drop a little different were the exclusive new colorways — an all-white leather version called "White Glo," a deep emerald pair with a maroon striped referred to as "Green-Bordeaux," and an black-on-black pair with satin shoelaces Puma has dubbed "Black Satin." There's also the slightly more expensive $140 price tag.

If you weren't able to cop a pair on the Puma website today, don't fret just yet. A Puma rep confirmed that the sneakers would also be available at select Puma stores, Opening Ceremony, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales. But once these new colorways are gone, they're gone.

There has been no official word on how many of the shoes will be available, but we're expecting this to be a limited release similar to her last two creeper drops. WWD reported that the brand aims to schedule drops of the furry slides, the Fenty sneakers, and the creepers every month.

We've reached out to Puma and will keep you guys updated with any new info.

*Update 5/26/16: A puma rep confirmed via email that if you're in the U.S., Rih's Puma sneakers will be available to purchase at 10 a.m. (EST) and 7 a.m. (PST) on the Puma website and select Puma Stores, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Opening Ceremony.

The inevitable has happened. Rihanna dropped a new generation of Puma Creepers — her third so far— which includes an all-white leather pair, an all-black suede pair, and a maroon and green pair with that instantly recognizable oatmeal gumsole. The $140 shoes went on sale at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 26, and were made available at the Puma site and at select Puma stores. They were supposed to go on sale via Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, as well, per Puma PR reps. The shoes moved quickly, crashing the Puma site and eventually selling out, firmly establishing the Rihanna x Puma Creeper as the sneaker of the summer of 2016 and perhaps beyond. I know many of you sneaker pimps and fashionistas are inconsolable due to the fact that these cool AF shoes have sold out, which begs the question. Will Puma be restocking this generation of Rihanna Creepers?

Will supply meet demand? Or will fans, customers, and sneaker lovers be forced to seek out the shoes on third party sites?

Puma PR reps told Bustle in an email that the shoe is "a limited release, like other Creeper drops before it." The reps also told us that "restocks are not planned. Should it happen, press and consumers will be informed."

I'll pause to let this cold, hard fact sink in. I know, the pain is real.

If you managed to scoop up a pair of these sneakers, congrats! If not, well, you might have to wait for a fourth generation drop featuring new colorways, since a restock is not on the horizon.

Unless, of course, the powers-that-be at Puma change their minds and decide they want to make a lot of customer and athleisure fans happy.

The Puma Creeper price online is also $140. We initially saw $120 and were told $150. But it ended up being $140.
