The NFL playoff picture : Possible Playoff seeding
Here's what we know as the playoff jockeying goes down to the wire in the final week of the NFL season. The results of the early NFC games eliminated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who edged the Carolina Panthers, but were eliminated when the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys.
The Washington Redskins were eliminated with a loss to the New York Giants, giving berths to the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, who play Sunday night. The winner of that game will earn the No. 4 seed and face the Giants, while the loser will grab the No. 6 seed.
Here’s what the playoff bracket would look like if the playoffs started now …

Outside of the Cardinals-Rams game, every remaining game has playoff implications…
– The Chiefs need a win over the Chargers and the Raiders to lose to the Broncos to overtake Oakland for the No. 2 seed.

– The Falcons can lock up the No. 2 seed in the NFC with a win over New Orleans. If they lose, the Seahawks are next in line. A win over the 49ers would give Seattle the bye. If Atlanta loses, a Seattle loss combined with a Lions win would give Detroit the No. 2 spot.

– The winner of the Packers-Lions game will win the NFC North. If they tie, both teams make the playoffs. If the Redskins beat the Giants, the loser is eliminated.

Here is a chart breaking down every team’s possible seeding…
